So....what's new???

Hey Everybody--

Happy Stampede 2018!

It's been just over a year since I started this blog, and I thought it about time to go back to 17th and see what was new, what was gone--what had changed in the last year...essentially to have a look and to see how much we both had grown.

I hadn't really thought about it, but after doing this, places like 17th are kind of like people.  They're living, breathing things--ok, people inject the living and breathing part in to them--but they are a lot like us.

Some buildings get facelifts when things start to sag (and so does the street itself, apparently) and some spaces get a new wardrobe by renovating, with a new coat of paint or some fresh decor, while others stay exactly the same (well, when you're on to something works, why change it up?); some new spots are born, and sadly, some others die.

But the heart of the street, the neighbourhood, remains.

I'm happy to report that not a lot has changed, at least outwardly.

Me?  I've had a pretty good year--new job, the new apartment is....a work in progress; a couple of great trips and lots of visits home to see friends and family.  Life's good.
